Dimitri Percia David
Biography
Dimitri Percia David is an Associate Professor of Data Science & Econometrics at the University of Applied Sciences (HES-SO Valais-Wallis). He is the co-head of the recently created Reliable Information Lab (integrated into the Institute of Entrepreneurship & Management and in the Institute of Informatics of the Management School). The Reliable Information Lab is at the intersection of Applied Machine Learning, Distributed Computing, Information Management, and Digital Trust — pioneering innovations that empower organizations to harness the potential of advanced technologies responsibly, sustainably, and securely. Members of the Reliable Information Lab strive to navigate the intricate dynamics of information and technology, fostering synergy between Advanced Machine Learning models (e.g., Generative Learning), Strategic Management, and robust Distributed Computing frameworks. Dimitri is also the co-founder of the GenLearning Center, an applied research entity focusing on safety and deployment issues of Generative AI technologies. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Information Science Institute of the University of Geneva and the 1st recipient of the "Distinguished Cyber-Defence (CYD) Postdoctoral Fellowship." He applies data science and machine learning to cyber-defense technology in his research. In 2021, he was the Technical Program Committee chair of "The 16th International Conference on Critical Information Infrastructures Security” (CRITIS 2021) hosted at EPFL. Dimitri earned his PhD in Information Systems from HEC Lausanne, and before that, he worked for 8+ years in the commodities-trading industry and as a scientific collaborator at ETH Zurich.
