Before joining Sygnum, Fritz built up and led the strategic platform partner initiative at Leonteq, a fintech platform for structured investment products and long-term savings solutions, establishing partnerships with major financial institutions globally. Prior to that, Fritz spent over 20 years in investment banking in New York and London. As Global Head, he was in charge of the build-out of SBC Warburg / UBS’s presence in capital markets and derivatives. He also held various executive positions at the UBS UHNW and Family Office Division. Fritz holds an degree in Economics and Business Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich.

In 2023, Metaco was acquired by the crypto firm Ripple for USD 250 million, marking a notable success in the blockchain industry. Before his entrepreneurial endeavors, Adrien honed his skills in the financial sector, working as a quant in the hedge fund and banking industry. This experience provided him with valuable insights into financial markets and risk management, complementing his technical expertise. Adrien's academic credentials include a PhD in Mathematics and a PostDoc in High-Performance Computing. He has shared his knowledge by lecturing at prestigious institutions such as the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and the University of Lausanne, focusing on cryptography and blockchain applications. Contributing to the field's body of knowledge, Adrien is a published scholar and co-author of "Blockchain and Distributed Ledgers: Mathematics, Technology, and Economics," a widely recognized book in the industry. Beyond his professional achievements, Adrien is a multifaceted individual with a passion for music and martial arts. He holds a Diploma in Violin and a Master of Arts in Teaching Science, reflecting his dedication to the arts and education. Adrien is also a black belt in Taekwondo, demonstrating his commitment to discipline and personal growth.Adrien lectured at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and University of Lausanne (UNIL) in cryptography and the financial applications of blockchain and is a published scholar in leading international peer-reviewed finance journals. Most recently, Adrien co-authored the best-seller book ‘Blockchain and Distributed Ledgers: Mathematics, Technology, and Economics’, a detailed and self-contained introduction to the founding principles behind blockchain, DLTs and cryptocurrencies, for professionals operating in quantitatively oriented fields such as mathematics, computer science and banking. As an established thought leader and regular keynote speaker at large scale events, Adrien covers a broad range of themes spanning blockchain, cybersecurity, digital assets and custody, tokenized securities, DeFi and Web3, with a particular focus on the learnings extracted from engaging on digital asset technology projects with some of the world’s largest banks and corporates.
